Endless Waltz is a slight improvement over the Gundam Wing TV series, but that isn't saying much. The OAV is free of many of the over-the-top dramatics and sloppy writing from the TV series with details unveiled surrounding the connection that the five Gundam pilots had to Operation Meteor from the TV series as additional back story is provided about it and it does give you some reason to care for them unlike the TV series. The animation is also improved here as colors on character and mecha designs are more crisp and have better-looking details. In addition, Endless Waltz sports better-animated battle scenes with more fluid movement coming from various mobile suit battles.

Still though, this OAV reeks of rushed pacing as Endless Waltz had little time to give a reasonable amount of depth to the new antagonist faction and its major leaders and provide a natural flow for the title's storyline. Not to mention Endless Waltz still carries some of the same major issues it has with its characters as in Gundam Wing having limited depth on the Gundam pilots and their personalities being either fairly shallow or too ridiculous to care for them, which does kind of limit how much I could care for when I learned of their reactions to Operation Meteor's true purpose.

If you were a sap for Gundam Wing, you will very likely be watching Endless Waltz. However while the series does sport some improved writing and visuals, the rushed pacing from its limited episode run and having the same issues with characterization it had from the TV series still make it a mediocre affair for me.

I dunno why I am on a gundam kick today...I am not a big wing fan, and the only reason i own this, and the only reason i gave it 10s for art and animation is because of the Gundam Wing Zero-Custom...If you like Mecha, then watching The custom version of Wing Zero is worth the price of admission...but if not...there are other gundam versions out there that will grab your interest...

The two most important points in this movie are: thre are two versions the terrible cartoon network aired with no blood or swearing and chopped up and the full version with bloody deaths. Next, they had one year to modify thier gundams. Yes they were going to destroy the gundams in the sun, but just to make them look super cool before they destroy them they added some mods. Heero made his gundam have wings instead of a bird mode. but the full vesion doesnt have everything you need to get the 3 ova's for everything.
Last thing. If you look closely when Heero is delusional after crashing, he doesnt shoot mariemaia and he faints on purpose, slowly enough for Relena to catch him and cuddle that pervert next to her boobs.

The plot to Endless Waltz basically repeats those of several Gundam shows. Except this time the person who intends to bring chaos to the Earth is a misguided kid named Mariemaia. She's only a child, albeit an intelligent one, so naturally she's under the influence of some power-hungry adult...who in this case happens to be Dekim Barton. Mariemaia's justification for declaring war is that she wants to 'carry on her father's ideals'.

The mecha designs featured in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz are appealing to say the least. The character designs have remained the same. The animation during battle sequences is nice, and looks far better than those in the series. The music's good too. My favorite song from the soundtrack is the instrumental track Journey to the Sun.

I'll buy a Gundam movie or series no matter how crappy it is, such as Mobile Suit Gundam: 8th M.S. Team or Turn a Gundam, because I love the Gundam saga. However, Gundam Wing Endless Waltz was actually very good, and even though I hate the ending I still enjoy watching it.

Good ending to the Gundam Wing Series. Only disapointment is that they destroyed all the remaining Gundams instead of makeing a museum of MS'. Other than that, it is a great movie that shows many more details than its predicessor, Especially in the Nataku vs. Zero Fight.
Special Note To Midnighter: This is an ANIME, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. fine, so hey have unbelivable abilities, so y not have nuclear reactors as a power source? Thats an infinite energy... Ammo? maybe small expanding bullets with an explosive gas? or maybe large clips hidden within the MS' body? Maneuvering? dude, Zero's Got Wings, Nataku has helicopter shaped dragon-extending arms. They DO have thrusters/Rockets and a lightweight durable GUNDANIUM armor. Given, they do weight Tons, BUT SO DO JETS!!! y not let your imagination fly too?

Granted, I watched the movie on my computer after burning a copy from a friend, then saw it on DVD. Anyway... I loved it, I could appreciate the new designs for the mechs, the only thing that ticked me off was the beyond creepy-world domination-victory obsessed seven year old. Just too nuts for me. Aside from that, the movie was superb, though if anyone gets really ticked off about the year gap and new designs of the Gundams, I advise in reading the Gundam Wing, Ground Zero Manga. Answers all your picky questions.

Following on the incredible Gundam Wing series, Endless Waltz is both a sequel and a prequel to the TV series. Many of the loose ends are tied up in this movie and the exploration into the human psyche hidden in the subtones of the plot are refreshing from your average, blatantly obvious plotline. The soundtrack, though unmistakably foreign, fits seemlessly into the scenes and the art is top notch. The plot does have it's slow points, but overall it left me intrigued and surprized.
However, I was left wondering why the Gundams differ from the versions in the TV series. This is painfully obvious in the opening scene of the movie as it is supposed to be a recap of the final few episodes of the TV series. The biggest injustice is the Wing Zero which somehow sprouts bird-like wings out of nowhere. You would think they'd just reuse the designs from the TV show, but this is not the case and there really is no good explanation for it.
Technical gripes aside, this is a good movie with a solid plot which should appeal to a wide range of people.

Endless Waltz is a good movie. If you saw my Gundam Wing review you would wonder what am I thinking? Well Endless Watz has finally explained all the mysteries found in the original series and has finally made some important story developments which was Gundam Wing's weak spot. The mechas themselves were for gimmicks but they looked nice overall. Unfortunately the TV series was not done like this movie and the movie can only explain so much. Why didn't they explain everything in the original series? To sum it up TV series:mediocre EW: much better

This is a ridiculous story about a teenager girl who tries to take over the world. This movie is a 1 hour of Blah Blah Blah drama,15 minutes of developing story, and 15 minutes of action. Watch out for the colorful cover!!,if you are all about action, this is not your kind of movie.

I really enjoyed this movie. It did tie up a few loose ends for me that the TV series left us at! -.- And the art in it was very well done! Its a definite buy in my opinion!

I personally was highly impressed by the art and animation in comparison to the series. Naturally, being an OVA it would be of higher quality. Still, it highly differed from the series art. I've watched this movie several times, and each time I love it just as much. I'll admit that my opinion may be biased because of the fact that this is one of the first anime's that I've become aquainted with. Nevertheless, I believe this is of superior quality and still never ceases to attract me.

After Colony 196, and for some reason there was just enough mecha left over from that last war to fight in another battle for Earth and Space. Not only that, all the Gundams have been repaired/improved upon, but was almost destroyed because the pilots felt they were not needed anymore... Ha, Ha, Ha, Foolish Mortals!
This movie pretty much caps the entire series... helps with a few loose-ends and sums up that Peace can be achieved with several big Gundams. Worth checking out, but you should watch the uncut version to get the full effect.
Overall, good movie regardless if it glorifies war or not! ^_-

Hey kids! The word of the day is "OVER-RATED!" Come on, say it with me!
Well, it's more mecha madness. I'll be honest, the mecha in Gundam drives me insane, I hate it. I don't mind the characters, but those stupid, bulky mechs are just too ludicrous for words. Let's think about this: the Gundams do most of their combat in Space. Wouldn't it make more sense to use a black paint job for camo instead of bright, light reflecting whites and primary colors?? And where do they store all that ammo and still have room for enough fuel to not only escape a planet's gravity but to engage in tight-meneuvering dogfights?? That said (please dont send me fire bombs, Gundam fans) Endless Waltz wasn't a bad anime, but it wasn't that good.
The story was a little lame, and the characters themselves are all fairly unlikeable, but hey, that hasn't seemed to stop this franchise from accumulating a large fan base.
The dialogue in Waltz was just too cliched and corny to take seriously. Personally, I felt this was just one cliche after another, and I was left disappointed and indifferant about it.
Maybe you have to be a Gundam fan to like it, but I didn't. Sigh, If only they had sent this franchise into the sun with the Gundams...
