I've been an anime fan for over 22 years now and have seen plenty of anime titles, both past and present. I'm a big fan of anime movies coming from Studio Ghibli and Satoshi Kon who have played a major role in giving anime some sense of recognition in America, even if it never gains full mainstream status.
I'm pretty open to watching just about anything as long as there's enough substance to a title for me to take interest in it. If things like violence, gore, fan service, or moe are overused solely for shock value, forced fan adoration, and titillation, then I won't be latching onto an anime title for too long.
As of January 26, 2024, I have decided to no longer update my page or contribute to Anime Mikomi Org as I've been finding it increasingly difficult in recent months to work up any interest in engaging myself with doing reviews for many titles given how run of the mill they largely are in my eyes with how much I've seen over the years. Moving forward, I will be maintaining a list of all the titles I'm currently watching or have seen in my 22 years of fandom on MyAnimeList.net, as well as posting the occasional review for anything that engages me enough where I could get something interesting together. The past 15 years I've been on here were enjoyable in spite of the reduced traffic in recent years. Just with how much I've seen up to this point, I can no longer get as engaged to want to continually post my thoughts on everything I am following and being one of the few remaining regular members to do updates in here wasn't helping matters. For anyone with interest, I'll see you on MAL.
