While the focus on a struggling high school sports club may be familiar territory for those who've dabbled into their fair share of anime titles with similar premises, Mou Ippon's focus on the premise involving its enthusiastic cast of female judoka helps add some life for the title's 13-episode run. It has the familiar storytelling developments with several of the girls having their personal issues affecting their involvement in judo, overcoming them, and making the effort to get into shape for competition. But there's enough meat to said developments to engage the audience and they don't feel like they're window dressing. In essence, the series doesn't necessarily break any new ground as far as a title focusing on a struggling school club goes. But still, what it has to offer up still has enough meat to it where it could engage any fans interested in its premise.

(One episode watched): This seemed like a pretty typical sports anime to me and nothing really made me sit up and take notice.
