Serving as the tenth Dragon Ball Z movie, this movie would be placed between the timeskip coming after the Cell Saga and before the start of the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament in terms of plot placement. As Broly was a popular character from his last movie appearance, he makes a return in this film to cause trouble for Gohan, Goten and Trunks. The movie's events play out no differently from a typical movie spinoff of shounen battle anime and includes a rather ridiculous deus ex machina for how Broly is overcome at the end of the movie. Overall, only worth watching if you are a diehard DBZ fan.
