Continuity wise, this movie would fit in during the two week period leading up to the Cell Games in DBZ. Its main role is to introduce movie-only villain Broly who would be popular enough to DBZ fans where he would appear in a couple later DBZ films. The storytelling for it is rather standard for movies based on a long-running shounen battle anime with the movie building up an enemy threat, our heroes trying to find him, they encounter and get pummeled and some "all your powers combined" deus ex machina plot device gets employed to beat the big baddie. Some comedy gets tossed in involving Roshi and Oolong and some bits with Goku, but it mostly falls flat here. Unless you're a diehard DBZ fan, nothing much to really see here.
