Just as the rank I chose, avoid at all costs. Luckily, a friend of mine paid for me because he really wanted to see this. Since it was a free ticket, I made the mistake of saying "yes" and took the opportunity. It's sad when you know a movie this bad gets treated like yesterday's garbage. Not only was it in one room, but the room that's ten miles away from the concessions. We were literally next to some closets and the security office. Anyway, let me give you my take. Warning: Spoiler Alert

Goku, a goofy teenager who (just like in the anime) lives in the mountains with his grandfather, Gohan. In the opening, you see them both training. Nothing spectacular but a bit interesting. It starts off quite atypical with Goku questioning his abilities and the fact he promised Gohan that he would never fight. Now, if you have seen the entire Dragonball franchise or at least until the King Piccolo arc, you should be quite disgusted on how Goku is like I am. Goku is a loser in high school. Since he won't fight, he becomes the dork of school. I know that the movie shouldn't really be exactly the anime but it's so far out there, I doubt that the writers knew what they were doing. The guy who plays Goku must be great because he acts like a dork all throughout the movie. I couldn't tell if he was acting or not. Seriously, who names their kid Goku? I sided with the bullies he meets in the school calling him "Geeku". "Dorku" would have been nicer. Like in the synopsis, Goku must find all 7 dragonballs in order to stop Piccolo from ruling the earth. In between the climactic encounter with Piccolo and Goku setting off on his sixty minute journey, you get the rest of the characters showing up. You have Bulma (hot), Chi-Chi (hot), Yamcha (not), Master Roshi...now this is where I get bothered by the whole thing. Chow Yun-Fat plays Master Roshi. I have no problem with Chow Yun-Fat but for someone who supposed to look like an old lecherous hermit, he doesn't do it justice. It didn't really feel right. Probably the only character that I can say was decent was Piccolo.

I seriously wish I can explain more fully, but I can't give a fair review without thoughts of hitting myself with a hammer. It was too quick, the characters (mainly Goku) stink, and the story itself just was nothing more than a teen fighting movie with some special effects to enhance it. Nothing really related to the anime except for the dynacaps and pool ball sized Dragonballs. If you do end up watching it, pay attention to the ending. It's literally a "cringe in the seat" moment. I wasted near 90 minutes of my life watching this and the only thing that was good was the fact that there was no one in the theater.
