Fresh from surviving his adventures in Morioh, Stand user and Joestar ally Koichi Hirose is touching down in Naples, Italy to discover a man known as Haruno Shiobana, who may well be the inheritor of a truly terrifying legacy. Though he now calls himself Giorno Giovanna and makes a living from petty thievery, there is no mistaking the regal bearing and cunning that mark his bloodline, or the natural Stand affinity that he's already begun to harness. Whatever he may call himself, Giorno Giovanna's parentage mark him as a true threat - for he is the son of Dio Brando, and no son of Dio could possibly live quietly on this earth.

Adapting the fifth story arc of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure known as Vento Aureo, this series introduces the son of Dio Brando, Giorno Giovanna, living in Italy and joining with a crime syndicate to overthrow the syndicate's boss responsible for the rampant criminal activity within the country. This series retains the story structure from Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable where our main group of characters have to fight off different Stand users who threaten them in their journey, before eventually dealing with the main threat of the series in the form of the crime syndicate boss. The colorful and exaggerated characters are also retained, though have to admit I was largely indifferent to the new ones introduced in this series since they don't have as much of the charm as those introduced and linked to the Joestar family from earlier story arcs of the franchise. Plus for a lead character, Giorno is kind of a bit overpowered as far as the capabilities of his Stand, Gold Experience, go and how he's able to easily deduce whatever problems that his group are dealing with. On the plus side, the Stands still have their unique and creative abilities milked for fights as far as implementations go and how Giorno and his group are able to overcome enemy Stand users that get in their way. Otherwise, I think things with Jojo are starting to wear down on their welcome for me as Golden Wind feels like it's treading too much on familiar territory and not offering much different to keep things fresh compared to whatever enjoyment I got of the franchise peaking during Stardust Crusaders.
