Graduation day is finally here, marking the end of Koyomi Araragi's eccentric high school life full of peculiar relationships with otherworldly beings. However, Araragi is unexpectedly absorbed into his own bathroom mirror and trapped inside a bizarre world where everything he knows is completely reversed—the haughty Karen Araragi is shorter than usual, poker-faced Yotsugi Ononoki is brimming with emotion, and cute ghost girl Mayoi Hachikuji is a grown woman! But not everything is as it seems.

Zoku Owarimonogatari is meant to serve as a sequel to Owarimonogatari Second Season, as it is set the day after Araragi's graduation as he finds himself trapped in a "mirror world" where those he knows have opposite traits of one another such as Karen being shorter, Hachikuji being a grown adult, and Yotsugi displaying more emotions in her interactions with Araragi. The franchise's trademarks of bizarre character quirks and long conversations on both relevant and irrelevant elements of a case are on display throughout this film (or TV series) as Araragi tries to sort out the nature of the "mirror world" and what led him to be pulled into it. While I won't spoil what the cause of the "mirror world" is per say, it is connected with all the story arcs that have taken place throughout the Monogatari franchise with how many of the characters perceive certain aspects of themselves and there are subtle hints regarding this nature dabbled into at points throughout Zoku Owarimonogatari's run. The film/ series could have been a little shorter as it did feel like it was dragging out at points with some of the character conversations and Zoku Owarimonogatari doesn't really add anything new to the series story beyond serving as a side-story of sorts for Monogatari fans. Still, I'd at least recommend Monogatari fans check out this film/ series at least once to see if it has anything more to add to the franchise as a whole.
