Usually the Oni are the bad guys in anime, but here it seems to be the opposite. My impression is that the Momotaro Agency has become cruel and corrupt over the years, and seems to be led by a council of five hideous mummy-like entities. One thing that is pretty typical about this show is the 'I-now-have-the-power-of-fantastical-monsters-but-will-use-it-as-I-choose' line, much like Kaiju #8 and other series. Before dying Tsuyoshi urges Shiki to become strong enough to defeat both the Momotaro Agency and the Oni one, and expresses his belief that humans and Oni could live peacefully side-by-side. So, Shiki has a big job to do. Some guy on roller skates named Naito appears and reports to his own superiors that Shiki has passed some sort of extremely difficult 'entrance test' and is just the sort of person they are looking for (no doubt he will now need to undergo gruelling training under a colorful master). In general I can't say that I was thrilled by episode one of this show, but it was good enough that I want to watch episode two. As expected, episode two is all about the brash and angry Shiki persuading the rollerskating Naito Mudano (he is obsessed with 'efficiency') that he is good enough to be a fighter for the Oni Agency. He manages to do this and is sent to the Oni academy which is located on a remote island. I didn't detect anything particularly novel or intriguing here; fighters in this show can transform their limbs into firearms of all sorts, but when up against a tough opponent they don't seem to matter.
