This third offering of Maria-sama ga Miteru features some short stories centered around Yumi and her interactions with the Yamiyurikai members. Three of the five episodes center around the friendship of Sachiko and Yumi as Yumi becomes familiar with more sides of Sachiko such as her family and her discomfort around men. The OAV introduces a new character in the form of Kanako Hosokawa, a tall girl with a strong admiration for Yumi.

The major gripe I have with this OAV was the large amount of focus put on Yumi. I enjoyed watching the first two shows because of their balanced focus on each of the soeur relationships of the Yamiyurikai. I wanted to get a good helping of seeing the other girls as main characters for an episode. But, all the focus on Yumi did kill some of my enjoyment of the OAV.

The character designs are the same as they were from Maria-sama ga Miteru ~Haru~, but with brighter colors that take advantage of the OAV format and the backgrounds and scenery are as lush and detailed as they were from the first two shows.

The OAV does retain much of the classical music from the first two shows to convey the elegant setting for the series. The closing music chosen for the series did not mesh well with the mood of the series since it was an upbeat J-pop song.

The series still retains its shoujo-ai undertones so it will still be potentially offensive for religious viewers. The closing sequence make these undertones more blatant which would further add to my warning that this isn't a series for those who can't handle watching anime with such undertones.

This series is still worth watching. But for those who liked a balanced helping of seeing each of the Yamiyurikai members, they will be disappointed with the greater amount of focus on Yumi.
