This Sailor Moon movie is one of my favorites. However I also liked the Sailor Moon R movie. Both of them had romance and fantasy all in one feature. The young man who rescues Luna is kind and loving. No wonder Luna falls for him. But the problem is she is a cat and that kind of relationship just can't happen. The white cat who evidently is in love with her tells her he is there for her. So it isn't just about the evil snow queen. It has three love stories all in one movie. I had good feelings when I watched it and I rented it a few times. There is also another movie called The Black Dream Hole and that is with the Super S series.

My eyes water just thinking about it. this is a movie you must buy, You MUST! This had more plot, more value, than any sailor moon series or any of the other movies. It is so beautiful, graceful, and touching. I actually cried when I was watching this heh.

I just LOVE love stories! I'm one of those people who almost (ALMOST!!) cries during movies, and this was a nice one to almost cry over. It's just sooo sweet! Plus the fact that it doesn't center on Usagi! That's always a bonus. Other than being a simple tale of love, it is pretty, and I really like the Snow Queen's minions, the Ice Dancers I believe. And the music is really fantastic. That is really what pulls at the heart strings. I put buy because if my friend didn't already own it, I just might buy it! I never thought I'd say that about Sailor Moon videos. I'm not really a moonie, just someone who likes the pretty love story and nice art work. It's good, so at least watch it! The reason i put buy is because I'm one of the nuts who bought it :P Definaitly my favourite out of the 3 sailor moon movies. Just one thing. DO NOT whatch the dubbed version. it spoils the story. I'm a sucker for sappy stories of love that wasn't meant to be. The part where Luna starts crying is possibly the saddest in the movie although not a tear jerker is still moving. As for the music. The instremental 'Soar' The theme of the movie, I'm hooked on the sad omnious melody. If You're a moonie this is a must have.

My review is in response to the dubbed version of this movie, "Hearts in Ice". They storyline was never far from the original, which was a beautiful storyline to begin with. This was the best of all 3 movies, and even if you're not too familliar with Sailor Moon, give this wonderful movie a chance.

Although I am not a fan over Sailor Moon I do watch it from time to time (plus the fact that my friend loved it I watched it more than I would have). I found this movie to be exactly like the series- boring. I love Sailor Moon animation and the characters always turn out beautiful. The plot of this movie is a little bit more elaborate than the series, only a little. I find the series to be quite boring because of the constant new "bad guy" being created who is just defeated in one episode. It doesnt server to build any of the tension/suspense that I would like to see. I would watch this show for its animation. The plot is okay but its not unique (which is what sets many anime apart). If you love Sailor Moon, by all means, go out and buy this movie! But if you are just looking for a good anime to watch I dont think this should be your first pick. The most beautiful movie of the three offerings, this was the only one based off of an original manga. Although the story was adapted somewhat and changed for the big screen, it still retained all of its beautiful romance and touching story...and it won the position in my heart as my favorite movie of all time. It seems odd to hear if you are not familiar with the Sailormoon universe, but the strange circumstances of Luna's tragic, unrequited love because she isn't human, and she's in love with one nonetheless are very adequately communicated through the beautiful drama. An incredibly humanist piece, this reflects that, without sadness, the happiness in our hearts means little. Without the bad things in our lives, the good things don't mean so much. As well as that, this movie contains a great deal of exciting action sequences and fights, and also the second of two times in which Sailorpluto's transformation in the series can be seen. Every senshi gets her moment in the spotlight, and even Tuxedo Mask gets to have some fun in a sleigh. High on romance and tragic beauty, the Sailormoon S movie is guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, and sigh happily, and you will want to see it again and again. If you see nothing else from Sailormoon, or no other Sailormoon movie, let this be the one you see this year. It is definitely worth the trouble to get it, to experience the incredible beauty, and the manga is also excellent...check it out. Last updated Monday, June 26 2000.
