The first half of the Doom Tree season is a good one to watch. In this one Darien has lost his memory of who he use to be and now goes around as the moon light night. He finally remember who he was and they both come together as one. After I watched this one I went on to purchase other Sailor Moon DVDS. There is Sailor Moon R, and Sailor Moon S.

This season is divided into two sections: 1. "Ail and Ann" (episodes 47-59, the "Doom Tree" conflict with those alien "siblings"), which was awfully boring, except for its final episode, and 2. "Chibi-Usa and the Black Moon" (episodes 60-88, the "Crystal Toyko" story, i. e. the conflict against another fraction of the Dark Moon party - this time the bad guys from the future), which was a lot more interesting, and even slightly better than the first season IMHO. But as a whole, Sailor Moon remains a goofy children series filled with one-dimensional (and mostly stupid) characters, lengthy discussions in the middle of each battle, no explanations for anything... just the eternal good vs. evil battle where the good mahou shoujo heroes trust each other unconditionally and the superior evil foes always fight each other instead of joining their forces. (And as with all time travel stories: Why don't the enemies just attack in an aera where there would be no powerful enemies?) The events of the Chibi-Usa story are more focused on Usagi and Mamoru than the first season was; consequently the parts that cope with their relation are the most interesting ones, such as Mamoru's decision to avoid Usagi, and the resulting implications. The Chibi-Usa character works best as catalyst for the leads' relation (while she can be quite annoying in other respects). The supporting cast aren't that important this time (but at least they make some more creative use of their spells); Mizo no Ami (my favourite character from the first season) is almost reduced to a boring nerd here (but watch out for episode 80 "Smart Payoff", one of the best episodes of the whole series so far, together with the really funny parody special in episode 89). Towards the end we find a similar development as in the first season: Fewer "monster of the week" episodes but more story development leading to the final showdown (this time covering 6 complete episodes). These are amongst the better episodes of this season, despite the events being so predictable: As the senshi would never kill an enemy, they enemies have to kill each other. And I just noticed how this season's storyline bears resemblance to Roudosu Tou Senki: Eiyuu Kishi Den in certain aspects. Last updated Saturday, June 14 2008. Okay, I LOVED this series. It developes the characters, the story and adds some interesting new characters (including Sailor Pluto and the two "mysterious senshi"). I prefered the Dark Moon saga over the Alan/Ann one. The episode of the final battle with Wiseman was awesome. I admit I've only seen the dub and I enjoyed it. Bottomline: It's a great series for shoujo fans.

Well if you like sailormoon this is good. Its a good follow up to the original series, and this is coming from someone who cant stand sailormoon. Its a bit more mature, but not by much, the main reason im giving this good numbers is because on its own its just ok but there have been much worsethings out there, animation, music, and story wise. Even though i hate to say the the characters are well developed, the music is livable and the animation is good even in the americanized versions. Overall watch it on tv if you have the time.

The incredible follow-up to the original Sailormoon series, the senshi had fallen against the forces of Metallia and been restored to a normal life, minus their memories of ever being the Sailor senshi. Unfortunately, as always seems to happen with heroes, the peace would not last, and they all found themselves in their old roles again, with not too much regret to that. Probably the most totally romantic of all the series, to call it Sailormoon R was a very appropriate title choice. The relationship between Usagi and Mamoru is pushed to its most tense limits in many ways, and indeed the future revelation and tests of Time (literally) try them to the full capacity of their love, and beyond. An excellent translation from the manga, the anime also included the Doom Tree (Ail and Ann) saga which had no basis in the original manga but which nonetheless was an excellent piece of character development for everyone involved. The following story drew directly from the manga and adapted it perfectly, giving a challenging scenario and at times, confusing time-related disaster awaiting the senshi, as well as introducing the mysterious and elegant Sailorpluto, guardian of the Door of Time. While the manga version seemed darker at times, overall the manga was just that. Make no mistake though, the anime succeeded in being just as dark, even at some of its lightest moments. The ending theme was beautiful, too appropriate, and even just a hint of melancholy, and the Daliesque opening stunned and impressed.
