I found this to be a simple but fairly engaging story which remained focused on the romance in question rather than wandering off into confusion, which is easy to do. I was a bit surprised how long it took for the two lovers to first meet, considering that they had less than an hour to work with. She's a musician while he's a painter (he sure likes bright colors, whether they reflect the actual scenery or not). Perhaps the reason the story didn't drift off course was precisely because the story had to be told in the space of 52 minutes--there was no time to waste. I appreciate that. We get to know them well enough to care how things work out, and they work out OK--nothing more, nothing less. Background art was very good while the characters themselves were pretty simple. While not brilliant, this was a nice change from lengthy stories that become boring or need to insert lots of filler that has little to do with the basic plot. Thanks for pointing this one out, Ggultra 2764.

The plot pretty much makes this film as straight-forward as you can get focused on a high school girl who can play the violin and a boy her age with a talent for art, with both admiring the sunset in the countryside daily. Presentation's the only highlight here in areas with its gorgeous scenic shots and some solid violin play depicted with its female lead. Beyond that, Twilight mostly depicts our female lead's mundane life and her budding love with the talented artist. While the story pacing is reasonable enough to see the developments of this love take place, its mundane mood and the romance seeming a bit saccharine for my tastes did kill a good amount of my investment into this film. I understand this was made as a sort of memorial project to commemorate the Tohoku earthquake that hit Japan back in 2011. But that doesn't excuse the subpar work that was put into this beyond some of its aesthetic highlights. Not sure I'll see this film again due to how unmemorable it felt.
