Digimon: Digital Monsters 02. Mostly everything I seen in Savers, I've seen in past seasons of Digimon. A top secret government group devoted to preventing the presence of Digimon in the world, I seen with Digimon Tamers. A human antagonist trying to gain control of the Digital World, I seen with Ken in Digimon Adventures 02. Human and Digimon partners beaten to the point of defeat yet find the power within themselves to beat their foes, that has been common in all the previous seasons. Even with the new characters, their personalities have been seen in one form or another from the protagonists of past Digimon seasons. There were only a few noteworthy things I noticed with this season. Instead of children, many of the protagonists in this series are teenagers. In addition, the character designs are greatly improved from the past four seasons as human characters don't look like stick figures and there is greater use of color with both character designs and artwork. However, action scenes are still as uninspiring as ever. While Savers is watchable, it's the weakest offering that the Digimon franchise has to offer so far. Last updated Sunday, November 02 2008.
