Part one of this TV special is nothing more than a recap of the first 21 episodes of Urusei Yatsura. Since I didn't find those episodes that interesting (save one or two), this was very boring to me. Part 2 was an all-new story which is more of the same, but with a few minor differences. For starters, Lum loses the bikini pretty early on for a seifuku (school uniform) that matches the girls from Ataru's school. Kaede being a kunoichi who's really good yet really bad was kind of amusing. There was just something about a ninja who has the gift deciding to look for another line of work. Other than that, this was just another Atura-kun chases a girl episode while Lum-chan gets jealous.
