This second season of Nanbaka continues the story of the prior series with a new story arc involving a prison break and takeover of the prison's fifth building that Hajime and the convicts under his watch decide to investigate. They come to realize that one of the prisoners who broke out has issues to settle with Jyugo and partner up with several of Building 5's inmates to attempt to regain control of the building. This season provides some additional focus on the characters of Liang and Upa, whom have ties to another escapee attempting to take them out, and continuing to explore Jyugo's inner doubts from the prior season involving his past. There's a noticeable increased focus on the story and action of this season compared to the prior one, which does make it a bit more engaging to get into. However, it still has a major setback in that the story arc it focused on lacks a proper conclusion as it ends just as the arc's climax is seemingly coming up. Regardless if you enjoyed Nanbaka's first season, you will more than likely get enjoyment out of this second one.
