Feeling more like some sort of cash-grab for the Dancougar franchise, Blazing Epilogue features the pilots of the titular mecha reuniting to combat a new plant-based alien threat attempting to wipe out all humanity from the Earth, with their old foe Shapiro seemingly brought back from the dead to aid the alien threats. Beyond the more detailed and polished animation, there isn't much to show for this as far as plot goes and any attempts to add some sort of drama with the characters largely felt like window dressing here compared to the TV anime, though one major character's fate proves rather ambiguous once the OVA series concludes. Shapiro's purpose in this felt rather underwhelming compared to how much of a threat he proved to be due in the TV anime to his strategical capabilities. In short, the more polished visuals are the only highlight to this otherwise forgettable entry for the Dancougar franchise.
