I guess you can largely consider A-Girl to be a form of visual storytelling as there is barely any spoken dialogue in the film and largely accompanied by music and sound effects, as it explores the developments of Mariko and Natsume's relationship, the latter having a bad habit of hooking up with other girls. While still an animated advertisement for a 1980s shoujo anime that attempts to fit what it can of its story into a half-hour and the characters are largely your standard character types of shoujo titles from that era, there's enough depicted of the story onscreen where you can follow what is going on and the music is effectively utilized to convey the proper moods of the major situations that come up throughout A-Girl, without going too overboard. This makes the OVA feel like an extended music video of sorts with how A-Girl is set up for utilizing visual storytelling and I'd at least recommend checking it out at least once, as the viewing experience of this is actually rather decent in execution.
