High school boy Ayumu Tamari finds it hard to attend his classes especially since he had to repeat the year due to suffering from a strange syndrome which makes parts of its body's skin turn into a crystal whenever he experiences a strong emotion or stress. To the rescue comes his homeroom teacher Kouya Onihara, who also happens to love crystals. The relationship between them grows as Tamari tries to fit into his classes and other daily activities thanks to the pleasant time he spends in Onihara's office, which allows him to relax more (and crystallize less) acting more naturally towards his classmates.

Another anime short within the "This Boy" series from Comix Wave, this one involves the developing relationship between Ayumu and Onihara concerning their commitments to bonds with the former being overly self-conscious in social interactions and the other dealing with the aftermath of a relationship drifting apart. The attempts at this exploration are hit-and-miss as enough focus is given to Ayumu's character to show the effort he puts into eventually getting over his self-doubts, while there isn't enough explored about Onihara-sensei to develop a connection to his situation. Adding onto issues, the animation for this felt a bit cheap as enough animated stills and shortcuts were employed, and the visuals felt like something that could be done with Flash animation. In spite of these issues, I would still at least recommend checking out this anime at least once with its solid exploration of its theme.
