This OVA is mostly used to set up events for the upcoming Clear Card arc anime as it adapts the final six chapters of the original manga series. I did notice some manga scenes cut from this anime in order to fit into the OVA’s time run, but there was still smooth development between its various scenes in exploring the growing developments of Sakura and Syaoran’s relationship following the Sakura Card arc. As this episode is more faithful to the manga’s events, fans of the original anime may be disappointed to learn that anime-original character Meiling Li is not present in this OVA and that the setup of events leading to Sakura and Syaoran’s developments are quite different. Still, this is a rather solid adaptation of the manga’s final chapters and serves as a good setup to get into the new Clear Card arc anime. If you are a Card Captor Sakura fan, this OVA is certainly worth checking out before tackling Clear Card Arc.
