Yet another Yamato movie for me to plow through. Not much different with this one as the Yamato crew are battling yet another alien threat, this one actually having enslaved the Earth with the Yamato going to the enemy's planet to destroy a detonation device for a bomb they implanted on Earth. The animation's slightly bumped up from earlier movies as there are moments of fluid animation here and there, but the movie still suffers from the typical flaws of many Leiji Matsumoto works with the lack of proper depth and development with characters, some sloppy moments of plotting to create silly attempts at drama and failure of any logic to be applied in many of the movie's scientific concepts. As usual, Yamato or Matsumoto fans are likely to frolic to this one. I'm just glad I only have one more Yamato movie in my set to dig through.
