Mad Bull usally solves crimes using extreme violence and very unpoliceman-like behavior which always gets him in trouble with the 34th precint and his partner Daizaburo. Despite Mad Bulls questionable methods for solving crime he always has a good reason for what he did and together him and Daizaburo try to make New York a safer place for everyone.

Another infamous dud of anime, Mad Bull 34 paints a violent, misogynist and very inaccurate depiction of New York City in its focus on the everyday activities of Eddie and Sleepy, especially as this piece of garbage has the gall to claim it has the approval of the 34th precinct of the New York City police force. Seemingly trying to paint Sleepy into a Dirty Harry-like character for anime, the guy comes across more as someone with no regard for any rules laid out by the police force whereas Harry will push things to their limits with procedures in his films to kill criminals. It also doesn't help that Sleepy screws hookers in every episode of the show, the series tries painting him as a likeable character despite hypocritical behavior to the contrary and is seemingly immune to any repercussions for his actions, unlike when Harry regularly gets demotions or terminated from the force by his superiors. The show has its fair share of ridiculous elements in its criminal underworld such as a cyborg mafia boss, a pair of armed robbers donning Jason masks and rollerskates and a syndicate of Chinese kamikaze thugs.

The questionable content to Mad Bull 34 is worth mentioning to how horrifically bad it is. Just about every woman in this series is either a hooker or a victim of rape and scenes of violence are so ridiculously over-the-top, there are points where gun shots literally shoot off body parts and make heads explode in unrealistic fashion.

Logic also seems to be lacking at enough points in the show. For instance in the first episode, Sleepy is able to get away with cross dressing as a woman at two points without anyone questioning why a really tall man is dressed in drag and struggles in a fight with a thug on a moving subway train with its door open without both falling out or giving into physics. Don't even get me started on Sleepy's superiors letting him go free despite being presented enough evidence that he's killing any criminal that crosses him.

Unless you crave the worst anime has to offer, Mad Bull 34 is a waste of time to bother watching thanks to its mind-numbing, misogynistic and violent content.
