Where do I even begin with telling how much of a mess Tekken is? Many adaptations of video game titles tend to be mediocre to just out right horrible because the anime's either just being used to promote said series with little to no effort in creating a decent plot or it tries to put together a decent plot yet falls apart because there are too many characters from said video game (especially in the case of fighting games) to give equal focus to in the anime or it takes liberties with its source material because there is only so much you can squeeze into an OAV or movie format which is what many adaptations of fighting games tend to do.

Tekken is perhaps the worst offender I've come across thus far that demonstrates what not to do with a fighting game adaptation. It introduces you to a number of characters from the series that are around for their own purposes in fighting Heihachi's tournament yet it rushes through developments with its characters or doesn't even bother expanding upon their back story. The OAV's main focus is on Kazuya's plans of revenge against his father and Jun trying to stop him from killing him. The anime clearly takes liberties with this story from the video game as it makes Jun and Kazuya childhood friends yet there is no point in which the two met as children in the video game's storyline and Jun having different motivations for her involvement in the King of Iron Fist Tournament. Regardless, the whole plot is still unconvincing as the OAV is rushing through its developments giving you little breathing room to connect with the characters and juggling its sub-plots with other prominent Tekken characters throughout its 60 minute run.

From what I understand, Tekken was one of the first anime titles to make use of cel-shaded animation. However, this has to be one of the worst implementations of the rendering technique I've seen in an anime as fighting scenes and movements looked awkward and stiff, plus character designs looked mediocre as details looked rough and uneven. Though hand-drawn, the anime adaptation of Darkstalkers made at around the same time as Tekken looked more better polished, detailed and fluid during battle scenes than what I seen from Tekken.

As much of a fan that I am of the Tekken video games, I strongly recommend you avoid this sorry excuse of an adaptation for it. With poor implementation of cel-shaded animation and trying to cram too much into its 60 minute time frame for the OAV, Tekken is one of the worst adaptations of a video game series I've seen to date.
