This franchise is considered an aquired taste. This OVA is much the same. Fast dialogue, unusual humor and more.

Art, Animation & Character Designs
Artwork was exactly what you would expect from prior installments of this franchise. It's rather minimalistic and almost an aquired taste... as is the franchise alltogether. At times it can almost be considered surreal... including the way the characters are illustrated as well. This isn't to say that was bad but simply a stray from the norm.

Music
The OP was an interesting one. It was a death metal piece with male vocals and a few child-like snippets thrown in. Actually, it was quite disturbing... the accompanying artwork. Infact, the second OVA was even more disturbing... almost eerie. I almost felt that if I played it backwards, I'd hear some demonic chanting and such. Both disturbing and surreal. Not sure if I liked it. The soundtrack had a mix of different pieces ranging from gaelic sounds to hard piano suspenseful fillers to pieces you would hear from militaristic backdrops. A range of audio pieces. The ED was a really cool piece with nice a animated sequence. I'm not sure what to categorize this one but it was enjoyable.

Series and Episode Story
As expected of a Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei series (or OVA), this had some unusual and almost meaningless story telling. As was the previous installments, this OVA was mostly dialogue.... and at a fast pace at that. At times, I had to pause it just so I can read the subs, and not only because it flew by at a fairly fast pace, but also so I can digest the context of it. It was sorta hard keeping up with the unusual sense of humor or the intelligent or witty dialogue.... not sure what to call it. I didn't find much humor in this one. Got a few smirks but that's about it.

Overall, this was a mild entertainment that filled in some spare time. Not much here really.

Unevaluated Forbin [series:2130#1573]
Very funny as usual. Though I feel they are about to run out of material. I have lost track of most of the girls except for scary Kiri.

The 'Draw Sensei' song at the end of each episode is Hillarious!
