The Hoshisou High School has a tradition of two different classes. They are seperated into ordinary classes and music classes. One day, the second-year student Kahoko Hino, who applies the ordinary classes, meets Lily, the music fairy, who gives her a magic violin. Afterwards she is being nominated for a music contest in the school. Thus her step into the music world begins as she interacts with the other contestants. The whereabouts of love, friendship, and the contest that surrounds all of it but also rivalry and intrigue, all of that awaits her before she can finally reach her newfound dream. Kin'iro no Chord For the most part, Primo Passo is another dating sim spinoff focused around female lead Kahoko's interactions with several attractive boys with differing talents in musical instruments. Many of the characters follow specific archetypes you would expect of the dating sim genre of video games and the music plot element is mostly a backdrop for another typical "do your best" storyline and the multiple boys focusing their attention around Kahoko. The fairy companion that supports Kahoko throughout her ordeal is very out-of-place in the down-to-earth setting that this series pushes and only appears to be around as a plot device just to set events in motion with the events that befall Kahoko and the reverse harem of boys she attracted. Sure the series does devote some believable focus on the pressures of being a musician. But Nodame Cantabile does a much better job at focusing on how its musical elements affect its characters while balancing it out with the comical chemistry between Chiaki and Nodame, who have much more depth to their personalities than the characters in this series do. Unless you're a sap for dating sims or attractive looking guys, I wouldn't waste my time tracking this down since it offers nothing new or different to stick out of the heaping load of dating sim anime adaptations. Kin'iro no Chord All I can say is I fell in love with this Fantasy Anime when I watched it last year. Plus I love the Manga too. The idea of Lilly the music Fairy helping this school was delightful to watch. Romance, Fantasy and also a theme about growing up and the challenges you face all put together so nicely.
