I actually liked this anime. Let me start by saying that this anime has no yaoi. Yaoi is what i call boy on boy. It's just a guy that likes a straight guy in this anime. But u see, the story doesn't revolve around them two. There are other main characters as well. The story is about a guy named Yuri Shibuya, one day he came across a student at school being bullied. Being nice he helps the guy out. Next thing you know it the guy runs off leaving Yuri with the bullies. Yuri then got his head dumped down the toilet (which i found funny) Now, this is where the story begins....From the toilet he got transported to a completely new world, where it is said that he is apparently the 27th demon king (maou). This demon society (which the demons each have a power) is at war with the humans (whom have no power what so ever). So basically, it's about Yuri trying to stop the war and create peace with other countries. The thing that got me watching is probably of the comedy. There's always something to laugh at in every episode. Especially Gunter (looks serious and sophisticated, but actually a hillarious weirdo), Gwendal hahhaha looks mean and tough not scared of anything except for his childhood friend Anissina who always tests all her wacky experiments on him. He also likes knitting and cute animals but some times his knitting looks nothing like the animal eg: his bear got mistaken for a pig LOL. Wolfram, Yuri's fiance ahahahah it didn't started out that way, it was actually an accident, in this world they propose marriage by slapping the other on the left cheek LOL (i know), at first Wolfram didn't like Yuri and started to insult him and his mother which earned him a slap. I won't say too much, don't wanna ruin it. Besides being hot headed and such a pretty boy, Wolfram is actually a very caring guy especially about Conrad tho he doesn't like to admit it. Now...Conrad i really liked him, he's soo good looking and so so so nice hahaha everything a girl ever wanted. He's Mr Perfect!. There are other characters but these are the main ones. There are other characters that appear quite often during the anime. There's: Cheri previous maou and mother to Gwendal Conrad and Wolfram (yes, they are brothers...3 very good looking brothers.), Geisela the castle doctor, Greta adopted daughter of Yuri, Yozak the maou's personal secret body guard that enjoys dressing up as a woman during his duties, Murata Ken the guy that ran off and left him with the bullies- his role does get bigger in the middle of the series, Shori Yuri's brother. And also Yuri's over enthusiastic mother which i think is very adorable. The story line is not the best but it was very intersting, it was quite boring in the beginning but later in the middle it gets better that made me want to watch the next episode to see what happens. The story line was unpredictable it's different from the ones that i have watched which i like about this anime. I was satisfied with the ending it was really touching... I would give it a go if i were you. Over all i rated this a rent++ it would be a buy if the story wasn't too long and got to the point. I hoped this review helped. I saw this anime only had one review and it doesn't look helpful. There's more to this anime. Edit just found out five OVA episodes are comming out under the title Kyou Kara Maou R. and also season 3 is set to air April 2008. can't wait to watch it!!!!!!! Last updated Saturday, March 01 2008. Drama : Med Comedy : Med Action : Med SciFi : Med Ecchi : None Ok, well I rented this and started to watch. But one thing made me turn it off, Yaoi. Sorry folks but watching a dude get jealous because his 'fiance' dance with a 8 year old Loli just turned me off. And this is coming from a guy who liked  Fruits Basket, at least there the Yaoi waited a while before introducing itself. Here it shows up almost immediately.
