(Four episodes watched):

Well, what had seemed like a titillating and tantalizing situation is quickly deflated somewhat as we learn that Douki in fact arranged the hotel room 'mistake', presumably because she wants her male co-worker to jump her bones. It seems to me that the tension and intrigue would have been far higher if that had not been made clear. Little effort is made to develop the characters, in fact the man doesn't even get a face. So, is Douki just a young woman who has no more ambition than to attract a boyfriend? To be fair, the fanservice isn't all that explicit and it's more about what is implied might happen than what we actually see. Perhaps if we knew Douki better her actions would be understandable, but initially we don't, so it's hard to care how things will work out for her. In episode two Douki and the guy she's attracted to find themselves stranded in a broken down elevator. One of her co-workers seems to also have an eye on this man, which might be intriguing. In episode three Douki regrets not daring to come right out and present a Valentine's Day gift to this guy; does that mean she is relatively shy? Perhaps we are slowly getting to know her after all. Episode four was actually slightly touching, and made me glad I hadn't quit this series of shorts. This might be described as romance seen entirely from the viewpoint of one participant. It's a tricky, risky business and all you can do is learn on the job.
