This second season of Re: Zero continues Subaru's adventure in the alternate world he is whisked to as several shocking developments unfold following his defeat of Petelgeuse from the prior series with more Sin Archbishops making an appearance and the villagers by Roswal's mansion becoming entrapped in a barrier that Emilia is tasked with trying to aid in overcoming in a series of trials. These developments do lead to more elements of the world of the series being explored as Subaru comes to encounter the spirits of the Witches worshiped by the Witches cult and learns some shocking truths regarding the current developments that he and the villagers are stuck in, with some fleshing out provided on some major characters in the series. Unfortunately, the series does end inconclusively a major point with the current story arc's developments. But this "season" is set to continue in a second cour that will air in the Winter 2021 anime season. I will at least look forward to how developments fare with the cast of Re:Zero when it resumes airing in four months.
