Harukana Receive
Harukana Receive plays out many of the typical storytelling tropes of sports anime in its focus on Haruka and her cousin, Kanata, taking part in beach volleyball with the former being new to the sport and the latter getting over self-confidence issues as she has prior experience participating in beach volleyball. While nothing groundbreaking, the development of Haruka and Kanata as a team is engaging to see with Haruka becoming more proficient in the sport and Kanata gaining greater confidence thanks to her cousin's encouragement and involvement in the sport. Other characters involved in the sport also make their presence felt to encourage and be rivals for our main pair throughout the series. Harukana Receive also comes with a fair amount of fan service considering a number of the girls are physically attractive and wear swimsuits while playing in practice and tournaments that show off how curvy they are, with the camera usually getting rather fixated on shots of their breasts and butts. Thankfully, the series doesn't get too fixated on its fan service and it doesn't take away too heavily from its focus on volleyball and the developments of its characters. Overall, an okay sports anime to check out in spite of not breaking any new ground and may especially be a treat for male fans pining for an anime with attractive teenage girls in swimsuits.
