One rainy night after a school festival, a group of students from Kisaragi Academy decide to perform the "Sachiko Ever After" charm, which will unite them forever as friends. Once the ritual is done, a sudden earthquake transports them to Heavenly Host, a torn down elementary school. Unbeknownst to Satoshi and his friends, however, is the horrific past behind it which culminated in its demolition. As they look for each other and try to escape from Heavenly Host, they soon find out their lives are at the mercy of those affected by that same bloodied past.

Corpse Party: Tortured Souls -Bōgyaku Sareta Tamashii no Jukyō-
Corpse Party is comparable to survival-horror movies you might see from American films like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street as its high school aged class get offed in gory ways while trying to learn more about the supernatural phenomena that is affecting them. The anime gets a bit too into its horror and gory content to offer much of substance since the characters get little in the way of fleshing out and the story pacing felt a bit too rushed for me to fully follow what led up to the events affecting the spirits of the elementary school-aged cast that are out killing the high school students. In other words, this OVA's just as flawed as many American live-action survival-horror movies you may have seen at one point or another. Overall, believe this baby's only worthwhile for those with a love for gory horror titles. Otherwise, just skip it.
