Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita!
(Part of one episode watched):|
Not funny enough to be a pure comedy, and without much drama to pick up the slack. That is the all too common diagnosis of all too many anime comedies, and it seems appropriate here as well. Why does Miyako think Hana is so incredibly cute? Given the relatively simple character designs, we viewers cannot see whatever she does. And why would she want to make friends with such a girl just because of her looks? I never got any impression that Miyako had the slightest harmful intentions, but the situation didn't strike me as all that funny either. And since we are told so little about her (at least when we first meet her) I couldn't really care how her bid at befriending this little girl would go. Every message I was getting was that this was going to be an unambitious and not particularly funny show. Eight minutes and 29 seconds into episode one, I decided to abandon this show and watch something else. It might be a good piece of advice to people making anime comedies to include some quality plot and drama, just in case the jokes in the show don't seem as funny to viewers as they do to you.
