(Two episodes watched):

This was a show which sprinkled all sorts of hints--some fairly intriguing--to us viewers, but at the end of episode one I still had only a vague idea of what was going on. Time travel? An island which 'appeared' five years ago? Am I supposed to take these seriously? I wish a more solid foundation had been created, with more trustworthy data regarding what exactly the problem is. It doesn't feel like Setsuna recovering from amnesia will be the central issue, more likely that is just an excuse why we can't be told everything all at once. Some other characters obviously have an idea of what's going on, but have yet to share them with us. So, at this point I cannot tell if this will be an interesting story or not. The semi-moe characters and the bits like the crotch-in-face episode don't leave me terribly optimistic. But I decided to watch at least one more episode, to see whether an intriguing story would start to coalesce or if things would just remain needlessly cryptic.

A sure test of whether a show is interesting or not is to ask yourself what questions has it raised which you need answers to. But after watching episode two I can't really think of any. I don't really care what the cause of this 'blight' illness is (I'm not even sure if it isn't imaginary), I don't care if Setsuna chooses one of the three main girls as his girlfriend (I doubt that will ever happen), and I don't even care all that much whether he is really a time traveler. I'm confused by the mystical and sci-fi implications when no evidence of anything really out of the ordinary has been presented to us as of yet. The plodding pace that the story seems to be moving at hardly suggests that a truly intriguing story is going to come together. It seems more likely that this show is meant to milk the titillating implications of a guy who has three girls who seem to feel they have a duty to do as he tells them. I was reluctant to quit altogether since the show has some good points, but ultimately ran out of patience.
