Gorilla Grodd's time displacement machine transports many of Batman's worst enemies to feudal Japan - along with the Dark Knight and a few of his allies. The villains take over the forms of the feudal lords that rule the divided land, with the Joker taking the lead among the warring factions. As his traditional high-tech weaponry is exhausted almost immediately, Batman must rely on his intellect and his allies - including Catwoman and the extended Bat-family - to restore order to the land, and return to present-day Gotham City.

Ninja Batman
Batman Ninja mostly fancies itself as a stylish romp on its focus of Batman and his allies taking on Joker and several villains in his rogues gallery in feudal era Japan after traveling through time via a time machine created by Gorilla Grodd. The film mostly relishes in how over-the-top its premise is as it dabbles into tropes you would find in samurai action and anime mecha titles (the latter, you'll have to see for yourself in the film's second half). Batman and Joker get to shine in this movie thanks to the crazy premise, though the majority of other characters don't really get much to do in this movie thanks to the amount of screen time Batman and Joker get. Also if you are expecting any substance here, you will be greatly disappointed as the plot is quite bare-bones with depth and is too focused on relishing in the absurdity of Batman's foes ruling over parts of Japan and Batman teaming a group of ninja resistance fighters to oppose them. The animation is mostly rendered in CG animation and is hit-or-miss as while it depicts a good amount of visual detail with convincingly fluid animation shown nicely during the film's action scenes, it does not do so nicely with rendering more subtle details like hair and facial details on characters. Still, Batman Ninja succeeds in being a stylish, over-the-top romp with Batman duking it out with Joker and his other villains in feudal era Japan. If you're a fan of action anime or Batman, I would at least recommend giving the film a peek.
