This latest installment from Kara no Kyoukai features Shiki crossing paths with a teen bomber with the power of precognition for its first half and a look into the future seeing Shiki and Mikiya's 10-year old daughter. The first half of the movie offers the more genuinely suspenseful moments as Shiki becomes a target for the bomber due to her ability to halt his predictions through use of her Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. The movie provides enough fleshing out of the bomber and a teenage girl with the ability to offer up different mentalities with how they view their abilities. Otherwise, the second half to the movie with Mana is mostly there as a bonus for Kara no Kyoukai fans wanting to see the results of Shiki and Mikiya as a pairing that don't offer much else to look into. The high quality presentation from the film series is retained here with plenty of detailed scenery and character designs, and fluid movement coming from Shiki's confrontations with the bomber. Overall, this is a definite watch for Kara no Kyoukai fans just for the bomber plot, though your mileage may vary with the movie's second half on with its focus on Mana.
