Not much of note to this title. D-Frag is mostly just another comedy title milking off a level-headed lead (Kenji) putting up with the eccentric and strange quirks of a group of characters (Fake Game Club) that he is forced to interact with and deals with rivals to the group just as bizarre as they are. The characters all have their own idiosyncrasies and gags they milk throughout the show's run, which didn't really have me caring much for them since this was all they were mostly defined by and I was not really caring much for the show's comedy. May be a title worth watching for fans of gag comedy anime, but this isn't really my cup of tea for a comedy title.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:2838#628]
(Six episodes watched):

Huh... are these girls going to develop likeable personalities, or will they remain the crazy bitches that they initially struck me as? That was the main thought that came to mind after watching episode one of D-Frag. I didn't particularly like anybody in the show, and couldn't look forward to a series about people of this sort. And they don't seem to change in succeeding episodes; it must be significant that the girl I like the most is the one who was forced to join the club on a bet, and therefore isn't part of the largely selfish, conspiratorial bunch who created it. We are supposed to sympathize with the blonde girl who created the club because she was lonely (IIRC), but all but one of the girls just seem like mean spirited people that I wouldn't want to have anything to do with myself. 'Delinquent' guy is actually the straight man, since nothing he has done is nearly as bad as things that they have. I wish each of the girls had a better excuse for behaving in the way they do; if that were so, I bet I could get into this show much more than I currently can. The show seemed amusing enough to keep me coming back for a while, but clearly the real test would be whether the cast developed or not, and it doesn't. After awhile I realized that it isn't really all that funny either, not once you get used to the oddity of the basic premise. Weird, yes, but the weirdness isn't handled skillfully enough to make it funny as well. I think I stayed with this show as long as I did because it clearly had potential, but ultimately I lost hope that the potential would be exploited, mainly due to the undeveloped and largely unlikeable cast.
