I was a bit surprised to see a second season of this not all that memorable show appear, and didn't bother to take any notes while watching. My memories quickly reassembled themselves, and this is indeed a spot-on continuation of the same recipe of harem comedy in between incidents of mecha action. Ichika is a fairly sharp guy, except that he cannot for the life of him grasp the concept of female jealousy, which continually gets him into trouble. I must admit laughing a little when he got bounced off a wall. Episode one largely involves reintroducing us to Ichika and the members of his harem, as he recruits people to go to a fancy swimming pool with him--except each girl thinks that what she's getting is a one-on-one date, not a ticket to a pool party. At the end a new, mysterious and frightening mecha pilot shows up--except we all know that she will wind up as an additional harem member sooner or later. I expected little from this show and pretty much got just that. I could take IS2 or leave it equally well. If I had any reason to believe that a long-term plot might come together and an exciting climax would come about, I'd be more inclined to watch, but season one didn't suggest that that would happen. Perhaps if there are relatively few quality shows this season I will watch, and if there are enough, I won't.
