Chance Pop Session was quite a mixed package for me. On the one hand, it offers an inspirational story of three teenage girls trying to become pop idols and the series believably exploring some of the challenges of being a successful vocalist in the music industry. The prominent characters in the series do get their focus and depth where one could connect with their problems and allows the three main girls of the series to believably bond as friends and cooperate well in their three-woman vocalist group.

On the other hand though, the focus on the connection between the three girls becomes very predictable as the various bits of foreshadowing revealed throughout the series will let one know of the deeper connection between the three earlier before the big reveal in the later episodes which kills much of the emotional impact from those later moments. While the J-Pop songs used within the series were catchy, they do get very repetitive as the series drags on considering that the trio of girls and their inspiration Reika seem to only have one big hit song that people in the series are oozing over. Chance Pop Session also gets in the annoying habit of over-dramatizing some major scenes in its later episodes in a false attempt to create drama, especially prominent with the father of one of the female leads who has his head way too much in the clouds when it comes to knowing how to care for his daughter.

While Chance Pop Session does make a decent effort out of creating an inspirational story with its trio of likeable girls, the predictable story developments, repetitious music and the over-dramatization of some later scenes put a great dent in the show's quality for me. I don't believe I'll be hopping back into this series anytime soon, if ever.
