Furusato Japan
Ten years after loosing the war, Japan is a tattered and troubled country. But life goes on and kids still grow up, attend school and struggle to fit in. Three students attending a public high school share their lives as they balance life and school issues.
With no comedy and only a little drama, this slice-of-life story tells a tale of what life like back in 1956, At time very different from the life experienced by the students of today.
I suspect that one has to be Japanese to be touched by the obviously deep and significant message hidden in this story. But I am not Japanese, so the message is lost and what's left is a vaguely interesting historical drama documenting a difficult time in Japanese history.
