A trio of middle-school students begin a search for the supernatural secrets and spiritual haunts of the strange village that they live in. After all, what kind of village would have a 'Grim Reaper General Hospital', a haunted shrine at the base of Mount Hag, a place known as the 'Gastly Apartments' and an abandoned building called the 'Thriller Restaurant'?
Based on the best selling Kaidan Restaurant line of ghost story anthologies by Miyoko Matsutani and illustrators Yoshikazu Takai and Kumiko Kato. Each episode contains three short stories, an "appetizer", "entree" and "desert". The first two "dishes" of each episode depict the ghostly events that revolve around sixth-grade schoolgirl Ozora Ako. The closing chapter of each episode is a ghost story told by Ako and her classmates.

Kaidan Restaurant
HUMMMM..... This is the latest in the genre of Japanese Ghostly & Spirited anime series. Obviously oriented for the youngest of the anime fans, this series plays on the traditional ghost stories and haunted school rumors for a spooky effect. No blood, no terror or soul-sucking deamons, just SCARY and SPOOKY stories of mysterious hauntings and ghostly apparitions. Nice innocent fun and fright for a new generation of rugrats.
