This was my first Korean work of anime. I could tell that the characters were speaking a language other than Japanese, even though I don't speak either Japanese or Korean. The music, at least early on, seemed to have a more western style--other than the lyrics, of course--than what is typical of Japanese anime. Character designs were well done and distinctive (their eyes were realistically sized!). I learned a few things about life in (South) Korea, like how authoritarian it seems to be relative to the US, and how unheard of it is for juveniles to talk back to adults. I felt slightly confused at first about what was going on plotwise, but the story was making some sense by the end of the episode. In all, I would describe this first episode as not enthralling, but it piques my interest, and I'll go along for awhile to see how the story shapes up. "That's not supposed to happen"! That was my response to a startling event in episode four. Where will the story go from here? All of my expectations have been wiped away, and one thing I can say for this show is that I haven't the slightest idea what will happen next. Last updated Sunday, December 06 2009. If you enjoy romantic dramas, with a lot of tugging at the heart-strings and dramatic twists, then this might be a title for you. ||||||||
