Basically an OVA that covers the entire 24 episodes and fills in a few missing details. It also gives background on Yakumo and Sarah and a small piece on Lala, Harry McKenzie, and a new character that was always in the background, Yoshidayama.
[OVA, 2005, 2 episodes, based on the manga of the same title; R1 License by Funimation; Manga licensed by Del Rey.]

A decent extra for School Rumble fans to check out. Besides the usual humor found in the series (the other delinquent attempting to jack up to Harima was a hoot), this OAV also explores some of the character storylines that the TV series didn't have time to resolve such as the start of Sarah and Yakumo's friendship and Tenma's attempts to get a seat next to Karasuma. The artwork to the OAV is still on par with the TV series. But other than that, this is a worthwhile pair of OAVs to check out if you were curious over some of the storylines for School Rumble that the show didn't have any time to explore.

Having thoroughly watched and loved the past few series, I figured I'd love this one as well.

Art, Animation & Character Designs
As expected of School Rumble, the artwork and animation was on par with the past series. Good stuff. Character designs remained the same... which is a good thing since we don't want a different look as far as appearance and not quality.

Music
The OP was still a fun and lively piece. It hadn't changed from the series, which is great... I loved it!

Series and Episode Story
School Rumble is probably one of my favorite series. This here is nothing more than recaps with few additional details that was missing in various episodes throughout the series. However, it was still fun going over all the wacky events of the main storyline. Great characters, great fun and a butt load of laughs.

Overall, if you're a fan of SR, then pick this one up, even if it is mostly recaps.

I dunno about this OVA, it was kinda fast...kinda not needed, kinda if you wanted alittle more fan service trying to squeeze it in here, but not really... follow me? yeah me too...I didn't enjoy the OVA, maybe i just didn't get into the story enough, or i didn't laugh, or they just went on a tangent that i didn't like. What made the TV series so successful didn't translate here to me...

Recap OAV's usually aren't that good because how can you compress an entire series into one or two OAV episodes? However for this OAV, the writer tooks (at least some) elements skipped in the anime from the manga and used them. Thus, we get all-new materials fleshing out stories we'd already seen. It works.

One of the elements the anime dropped was the classroom-seating event. That was picked up in this OAV along with other stories. The stories themselves are not bad (the cave-man story may have been the weakest) but aren't as funny as the TV-series. However, the fact that it fleshes out those TV-stories or characters a bit more is what makes this OAV special. Plus, the OAV would seem to confirm my suspision that Yakumo-chan is sorta interesting in Harima-kun. And the OAV (in what might be the funniest moment) gives Eri-chan another look at Harima-kun.

One neat thing is that Kobayashi-sensei (manga creator) does a narration for the cave-man story. ^_^

Bottom line: more fun on the series and worth a buy as part of the 1st TV series for fleshing out stories.

Welcome back to School Rumble! I had forgotten why I like this series oh so very much. This episode gives us something we never got before. Fan Service Fan Service Fan Service. Of TENMA! Oh and Eri and Mikoto.

We also understand why Eri was attracted to Harima.

Damn Wannabe finally subs this thing FAST. It took almost 6 months for Episode 26 and now they shoot off both OVAs in a single week. I found the first episode funnier than the 2nd but the 2nd contains some new material that will change the 2nd Season.
