Art, Animation & Character Designs As expected of an OVA, the artwork was amazing good. In fact, this series was exceptionally good. The animation had a high frame rate thus, giving it a smooth look. The character designs had a western feel to them, not your traditional japanese flavored artwork. Music The music through the OVA had some traditional korean flavors (instruments), some of which was amazingly beautiful. At other times, it would be a dramatic orchesta-like piece... primarily during some battle or fight scenes. One of the songs, about part way through the OVA ( lyrics like "a song for her") was actually pretty good. It was a soft piece with a beautiful female voice. Series and Episode Story It started off quite promising. Rich details, intense desert confrontation..... but then, it sorta fizzled out thereafter. But generally, you can't expect a whole lot of deep story telling at just 1 OVA. Here, there's really no story telling as far as our protagonist.... why he does what he does and where or whence he came. However, what's interesting is that our protagonist is more an anti-hero, who's nearly a heartless and vicious killer. Some of the fights scenes were impressive, with great animated sequences. Still, with all that said, it's still pretty good. Overall, it's pretty much eye-candy, in that it had great visual appeal. It was particially enjoyable but don't dedicate other anime-watching time to this unless you've got spare time. Last updated Wednesday, May 06 2009. Created Wednesday, May 06 2009. |
Being only 1 OVA, there's not alot that can be told as far as the story goes. However it wasn't worthless anime... but rather enjoyable.||||||||

Overall, the story is lacking depth. There is more history with Munso's servant that with Munso himself. It leaves a lot of questions to his origin. Animation wise, it's great. The fight scenes are really fluent and at times more intriguing than the story itself. I wanted to see this anime for a while because it was a concerted effort by japanese and korean animators. I've never seen korean animation (maybe except for bits of Cat Soup) but it was a great effort nonetheless. Unfortunately, the story was lackluster and very basic. Nothing to really get into because it feels like watching the middle of an ongoing series. You're left in the dark with this one. It would have been an easy 'buy' but since the story was 'meh' it gets what it deserves. This would make for a great series if it wasn't only a movie. Last updated Saturday, March 08 2008. This was an interesting anime from the get go. It features a wanderer who travels around helping others...in a peculiar sense of the word help. Munso is really a bad ass chatacter. I'd go as far to say an anti-hero or sorts. Just like in the synopsis, he helps those who help themselves. He's willing to help you as long as you show him you can finish the job on your own or he'll kill you. To me, that's a mark of a true bad ass. Beyond that, he is a very skilled and powerful fighter. If that's not enough, he carries a medallion that when activated, it summons a group of shadow warriors to do his bidding. There is a companion/servant who follows him who also has trmendous capabilities. She basically protects Munso with her very life.||||||||
