Based on the manga of Inoue Takehiko (who published the SLAM DUNK series), this series follows an eclectic and strange collection of basketball players (set in a futuristic time,) who aspire to create a team to join the Intergalactic Basketball League to play against the alien (devil horned) Gorans, and challenge their apparent mastery of this earth-sport. 13 TV Episodes. First aired on 02-05-2005 See sequel - Buzzer Beater (2007) "零秒出手" means "zero" - "second" - "going out on stage" - "hand" (stage appearance of one's hand in the final second?) but according to Wikipedia (japanese) the official title appears to be "ブザービーター" (buza bita).

Buzzer Beater (2005) It is kinda hip, with a lot of hop-n-bop, but it is (most definitely) a sports anime series about basketball. The main characters are a bit off center and perhaps bizarre, but it does come across as being very fun and light hearted. The players all come from either the 'street' or from a mixed back ground with big egos and a lot of attitude. And the 'bad guys' a horned aliens who have 'stolen the thunder' of the human game - BASKETBALL. I have to admit that I am kinda of charmed by this series story line.
