From a parallel world, a creature has entered our world. Lime follows it with the purpose of destroying it. However, when Lime's partner, Bass, drops a box of magic sphere's, those spheres occupy regular objects (like a candle, a coin purse) and become youkai -- magical monsters/demons. The spheres are also known as houma (or Jewel BEM in the official translation). Now Bass and Lime must gather all of the spheres before the gateway to their world opens again.

At only three episodes, it is clear to me that this series was never completed. Lime and Bass set up an apartment in episode three meaning they are going to be there a while. They have only collect three of the houma and there were several that Bass dropped. If there were supposed to be additional episodes, I would be that poor sales canceled the series.

Of the three stories, I only found episode 2 to be funny. The purse youkai was so desperate to do something bad (because youkai are generally evil creatures), yet everything he did seemed to turn to good. It was funny how Lime and Bass ended up attempting to help the little guy try to be evil. Beyond that, the other two episodes were just not that interesting. Bass is very lecherous and Lime is like many of Takahashi-sensei's other lead females.

I will say that seeing Yamaguchi Kappei (Bass) in yet another Takahashi-sensei title is amusing (he plays Inuyasha in Inuyasha and Ranma in Ranma 1/2). Yet this makes the character of Bass a Inuyasha/Ranma clone and not very original. That's not Kappei-san's fault since the character was made to be like Inuyasha/Ranma with a lot of Ataru (Urusei Yatsura) thrown in. I would say that Takahashi-sensei has no new ideas, but rather I think this was from an early manga work. If so, then it can be excused since the source material is from her playing around to find out what works and what doesn't.

Bottom line: nothing to write home about, but if you are interested in seeing more of Takahashi-sensei's works, then it is worth a watch.
