Now here's a nice little series. It's a light one with not a whole lot in terms of plot, but was still charming nevertheless. Art, Animation & Character Designs Artwork was about average. Animation seemed a bit below the norm. Seems it dropped a few frames here and there causing it to be choppy.... but really barely noticeable. At times, the background was well done, although it wasn't vibrant and brimming with colors. Character designs seemed a bit below par but still acceptable. Music The OP was nothing out of the ordinary. It was a light pop piece with female vocals... but not in the typical japanese high-pitched vocals. The soundtrack had some nice twinker-bell sounding pieces, some inspector gadget pieces and some usual light elevator stuff. Nothing worth noting in other words.... even though I just did... hehehe! The ED was another light pop piece with female vocals. Nothing special there either. Series and Episode Story I found this series cute and charming. For sure, most the characters were lovable, Narue was definitely charming and kawaii and the story telling was simple but appealing. For the most part, the plot is simply episodic... story telling in the lives of our main characters. We get slight glimpses of Narue's alien past, which doesn't really do much to advance the plot but simply gives a bit of background to Narue's past.... or current life. It's not as if it was important to the plot but at the same time, it wasn't a waste of time either. As it progressed, we do see more of her alien past and some of the circumstances leading to her current life on earth. By the end of the series, we get to understand a bit about Narue, although there were a few things left unanswered. By the end of it all, we get a nice wrapped package of the plot and with a satisfied feeling of enjoyment. Overall, this was a nice, entertaining little series that kept me watching each episode with a smile. As someone else said earlier, it's a nice little gem. Last updated Wednesday, December 08 2010. (Rent-/ Watch+) This one's a bit of a mixed bag for me. World of Narue seemingly mixes around sci-fi, romantic comedy and slice-of-life in its focus on our female alien lead Narue who gets a human boyfriend named Kazuto as they try maintaining a normal relationship despite Narue's alien origins leading to sometimes hostile, sometimes bizarre situations. There are some aspects of its storytelling that aren't executed well such as its implementation of action with the two incidents with alien ninjas and the sudden developments that lead Narue and Kazuto into becoming a couple. On the plus side though, the series does offer a decent amount of depth and development with its characters and premise as we do get a sense of how complicated Narue's life is with her alien origins and how her father decided to wind up living on Earth. Additional characters are introduced among both humans and aliens who also get some fleshing out in regards to their life on Earth and connection to Narue. The comedy to the series mostly comes from the chemistry in Narue and Kazuto's relationship, as well as some of the bizarre predicaments they sometimes get into thanks to alien technology that is employed. For the most part though, I was indifferent towards this. There are also some otaku bits shown at points in the series such as Kazuto's interest in a magical girl anime and some fan service with Narue, but these don't detract too much from the series at all for the most part. The visuals for the series are rather standard for an early 2000s anime. Characters are drawn with conventional designs and scenic shots are nicely drawn with a decent amount of detail, though are nothing out of the ordinary. Animation shortcuts are milked at points in the series with still shots and jump cuts, though CG animation is employed at points whenever alien spaceships or gadgets are used. The average presentation doesn't detract from the series too much given its premise, but it doesn't stick out too much either. Overall, the series is a decent time-killer with what it offers up with its light romantic content as it is charming and offers decent focus on its cast without overdoing things with its sci-fi approach. It's a pretty cheap addition you can make for your anime collection as well as I got my copy of the complete series for only $10. Last updated Sunday, January 04 2015. Drama : Med Comedy : Med Action : Low/Med SciFi : High Ecchi : Low I forgot all about this little gem until recently. It's  Please Teacher meets  Ai Yori Aoshi but in the 10th grade. It's a cute little love story about 2 people from 2 different worlds.It's nice but too many questions left open and it was a little bit too slow for my taste. If you are a 14 year old boy/girl (or a natural child at heart who was entranced by Ai Yori Aoshi) then this fluffy silly romantic comedy might be something that you can enjoy, but just don't expect anything very serious. Driven by a good plot, crisp animation, and good character development, we can share in the awkwardness of Kazuto on his first date with Nauru, his new girlfriend. And if that were not enough, Nauru is a half alien with the ability to teleport and problems of her own. What can you do when your older sister, who has a deep space battleship as a best friend, decides to kidnap your boyfriend and hold him for ransom in exchange for your father? With a shy smile and an innocent nod to fan service, we can be reminded that short school girl skirts do float in weightlessness and that advanced robotic weapons systems can be packaged in a body that looks like a 12 year old girl (with short skirts of course), if only to serve as a love rival for Kazutos attentions. The bad guys of the series, the universal terrorists, are very bad and look like a cross between an orc and a bad dream, but since they can't use any advanced weapons, they can easily taken care of with tough attitude and a mean swing of a baseball bat. This series succeeds in being both charming and entertaining at a very youthful level (which, personally, I happen to enjoy).
