Once this Princess struck down a gigantic monster with a single blow. But now she languishes in a dungeon (along with her 'sentient sacred blade', 'Ex') as a prisoner of the Hellhorde. The Princess steadfastly refuses to reveal any useful information, and the aptly named Hellhorde Grand Inquisitor 'Torture Tortula' has decided that there is no choice but to subject her to a merciless regimen of torture. But this torture will actually be a matter of the carrot rather than the stick.

(Half of one episode watched):

Remember the old Monty Python skit where the Spanish Inquisition comes for an eldely woman, and in order to force her to confess subjects her to 'the comfy chair'? That's basically what happens here. The weakness Tortula hopes to exploit is not the Princess' aversion to pain but rather her addiction to good food. But, unlike the bit from Monty Python, here it just doesn't work. As I have said countless times before, humor is basically what happens when we are led to expect one thing but are given something else, which nevertheless also makes sense, just in an unexpected way. We defintely were not expecting that such a silly form of 'torture' would be employed on the redoubtable Princess (the story was looking rather grim prior to the OP sequence), but how does this make sense? I suppose it could be argued that anyone would be tempted by delicious food, but the Princess isn't just anyone. I was more annoyed than amused by the way the Princess freaks out after embarassing herself in front of Ex, the sword. And has she somehow regressed to a child in the cell, or is that some sort of superdeformed animation, or what? I noticed early on that the animation had a sort of American-ish look to it, what with the simple but stylized characters (or maybe I'm just imagining things). Maybe the average viewer would find this show to be funny enough, but it barely summoned a smirk from me and within five or ten minutes I was thinking 'I don't want to watch this at all'.
