Hula Fulla Dance
Hula Fulla Dance focuses on Hiwa and several other aspiring hula dancers undergoing their different struggles that affect their potential at being successful within their professions. While Hiwa is the main focus of the film with her inexperience in Hula and still coping with the loss of her sister, the film also takes the time to explore the struggles facing the four other girls dealing with their varying troubles as they each get their focus as Hiwa learns to not be so focused on her own troubles and work with her teammates to overcome each of their individual troubles. While the film sports gorgeous visuals and having some great 2D animation in depicting the hula dance practices and performances, the film still usually resorts to 3D animation during performance scenes that sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the 2D visuals. Plus, there is a supernatural element to the film that feels pointless in its implementation for Hula Fulla Dance since it doesn't lead anywhere plotwise. While still rather predictable in where its developments eventually lead with Hiwa and the girls, Hula Fulla Dance still offers a good deal of focus on the Hula dance profession and the challenges that the five girls cope with in order to be successful in their profession.
