At this remote training camp for female Ninja, everyone knows that men are nothing but trouble. In fact, they are the mortal enemies of women, are dirty, gross and stupid, and should be avoided at all costs. Second year trainee Tsubaki is notified that two first-year girls who she is responsible for, Sazanka and Asagao, have gone missing, possibly to pick a fight with men who are known to exist on a nearby mountain.

(Two episodes watched):

The characters in this show can leap so far that I at first wondered if they were employing some sort of magic that would allow them to fly. The idea of one or more proud but naive Ninja girls encountering men for the first time was sort of intriguing. A Ninja must be cold and calculating, and not let mere emotions get the better of them. But, as is so often the case, this show was not terribly funny. It had a sort of goofy plot as well; these girls are training to be Ninjas, yet are rather undisciplined. Where is it all going? As of the end of episode one we haven't met any male characters yet, all we know is that Tsubaki feels a strange emotion when she observes them from afar. I decided to watch a second episode.

I had assumed that surely episode two would continue the thread of Tsubaki's curiousity about men. Maybe she would actually meet one. But, while her strange feelings are noted, for the most part that angle is discarded and my new impression is that this show seems to be all about what goes on among the girls at this Ninja school. Each episode seems to consist of two little stories about Ninja hijinx, like how Sazanka is so infatuated with Tsubaki that she will try to sneak out of class to go be with her. This was a disappointment for me, because as with countless other anime this show doesn't seem to be funny enough to watch just for the jokes, and therefore needs some sort of interesting longterm plot as well.
