While Shikimori's relationship dynamics have their unique elements with the traditional gender elements switched about with Shikimori's tomboy persona and Izumi having more feminine traits in their relationship, their developments have their rough spots thanks to Izumi's ridiculously contrived bad luck contributing to situations that show off Shikimori's immense talents aiding to protect her love interest in some way, these incidents bordering on the outright ridiculous at points just for the sake of storytelling convenience. I think the switching of gender elements in the relationship had more potential that this series could have further dabbled into instead of hammering out the clumsiness gimmick with Izumi's character, though audience tastes may differ from mine if you're a rom-com fan.

(One episode watched): So, I guess the 'gimmick' behind this show is that we have a girl who looks cute (which often entails pretending to be helpless to attract guys) but is secretly cool, courageous and calculating. And that is funny because... well, because cute girls usually aren't that way. I guess. I soon found myself wondering where this show was trying to go, because it isn't very funny and the plot makes no sense. Why is Yuu so unlucky? Does Shikimori have some sort of psychic ability to foretell the future? But I decided that it didn't really matter, since this show was pretty boring and I had no intention of watching more than one episode. The last thing I want to watch is a hapless guy continually getting rescued from minor problems by his cute girlfriend, especially since I saw no sign that we would ever get to know either of them very well.
