Shinichi Sakurai is a second-year college student. One day at school he happens to run into Hana Uzaki, his short but well endowed junior from high school. She's now a student at the same college, and after noticing how he tends to spend his time alone she takes it upon herself to keep him company whenever possible.

This series appears to be a slice-of-life comedy revolving around Uzaki and Sakurai hanging out together to varying capacities throughout Uzaki-Chan's 12-episode run, with Uzaki's mischievous personality serving to annoy the more serious Sakurai. Much of the series sticks with this comedic routine between the two, alongside other characters either misunderstanding interactions between the two to be lewd or attempting to get the two to become a couple. Humor also usually revolves around Uzaki's rather large bust that gets milked for some moments of fan service. Outside of all this, not much else of note really occurs with Uzaki-chan as it doesn't have much to show for plot, though does tease the possibility of our two leads potentially coming together romantically. But it ends inconclusively before exploring these developments any further due to its manga source material still being ongoing, though a second season will be coming out soon. The chemistry between Uzaki and Sakurai has its moments, though the former did grate on my nerves at points with some of her mischievous antics and I did tire of the anime's milking of the misunderstandings occurring with the two leads. In short, I don't think there's enough offered with the show's humor where I'd be tempted to watch anymore of it, much less rewatching this first season.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:3983#628]
(One episode watched):

The comedy in episode one of this show struck me as very weak and predictable--some slapstick, some things with embarrassing double meanings, a cat that seems to follow these two around, etc. Uzaki likes to wear a sweatshirt with the words 'Sugoi Dekai' ('super huge') on her chest. But I don't think I laughed at all. Being an introvert myself, she struck me as extremely annoying and verging on being a stalker. And I don't sense much of a plot coming together; Uzaki doesn't seem to have any romantic interest in Sakurai and needless to say he has no interest in her. I was soon impatient for episode one to end and at one point hoped this would be a 12-minute series rather than a full length one.
